Content guidelines
Last updated 18 September 2026
SEOgenz is a place for useful, honest professional content about SEO. These guidelines explain what our moderators look for. They apply to free and paid content alike.
Everywhere
- Be real: use your own name, and list only businesses you represent.
- Be useful: write for people, not for search engines. No keyword stuffing, doorway pages or text generated only to fill space.
- Be original: do not copy other people’s work. If an article was first published elsewhere, set its canonical URL.
- Be respectful: no harassment, hate, threats or personal attacks.
- No link schemes: do not offer, request or trade links, guest posts, reviews or “link insertions”.
- No illegal, sexually explicit, malicious or deceptive content, and no links to such sites.
Business listings
- Use your real trading name, not a list of keywords.
- Describe what you actually do, who you work with and how.
- One listing per business. Duplicate listings are merged or rejected.
Articles
- Share experience, data, examples or clear explanations. Thin or generic posts are not approved.
- Promotional content must be labelled as sponsored; SEOgenz adds the label and marks its links
rel="sponsored nofollow". - Links should help the reader. Too many links, or links unrelated to the topic, will be removed.
Tools
- List tools that work, with an accurate description of what they do and what they cost.
- Say clearly if you made the tool or are connected to it.
Jobs
- Post real, open roles with an honest description, location or remote status, and how to apply.
- No pay-to-apply schemes, pyramid schemes or unpaid “trial” work.
Communities and comments
- Stay on topic and add to the conversation.
- No self-promotion in every post; share your work where it genuinely helps.
Reporting and enforcement
Anyone signed in can report content. Moderators may reject, hide or remove content, remove links, block domains, and suspend accounts that repeatedly or seriously break these guidelines.
